Is it cheaper to pre-book my car rental or should I book when I arrive?
By pre-booking with GOOD CHOICE Rent a Car in Montenegro, you receive the benefit of our purchasing power. Our online prices are considerably lower than walking in off the street in a foreign country to rent a car.
How far in advance can I book?
You may book online maximum 12 months, minimum 48 hours in advance, prior to your arrival pick up date. For last minute bookings which pick up time is less than 24 hours, we strongly recommend to contact us by phone for quick assistance and confirmation. Also for bookings in 6 months or more in advance we recommend that you contact our reservation center.
How can I book a car?
Please use our online, car booking engine for an instant quote and booking. Alternatively, you may call us for quick assistance.
Do I need a credit card to book a car?
No, you do not need a credit card to make your booking online with GOOD CHOICE Rent a Car, however you will need a credit card to eather pay the rental on pick up or to provide a security bond. Full payment is made at the depot upon collection of the vehicle. If you personally do not have a credit card but can get someone to go to the depot to pick up the car that does have a credit card, they can be the main driver and you can sign as an additional driver.
Do I need to prepay for my booking?
When you recive confirmation for reservation your booking is fully confirmed and secured, for any further updates or changes please contact us. You may pay the balance at pick up either Bank transfer, cash or by credit card. Prepayment can be made only with our prior aprovement.
When do I make a payment for my car?
Upon booking a car from GOODF CHOICE Rent a Car Split , when your booking is confirmed and secured payment is to be made at the rental desk when you present your voucher to collect your booked car.
Should I order optional extras during booking?
If you require any baby/child/booster seats, snow chains or GPS; we advise to order in advance during booking to enable us hold the equipment for you. You may buy others such as optional insurance, during booking or at pick up.
Is there an age limit for car rental?
Yes, minimum rental age is 21 and you have to be owner of valid driver licence for 2 years.
Can I pick up a car from a location and return to another location?
Yes, delivery to another Montenegro service point instead of car pick up one is possible. For some locations extra charge may appear. For further info please contact us.
How do I receive my confirmation?
You receive your confirmation by email sent to your email address you provide while booking. Please make sure that you enter your email correct.
May I change my reservation once it is booked?
Yes, you may view, change, cancel your reservation at Rates & Reservations page by clicking on "I already have reservation" link. However, if the change need to be made in less than 48 hours to pickup time, we advise you to contact us by phone which can be reached in our conatct us page.
Can I cancel my reservation?
Yes, you may cancel your reservation at Rates & Reservations page by clicking on "I already have reservation" link. Depending on the date you cancel, cancellation charges may apply. We do not return deposit if it is cancelled less than 2 days prior date of rent.
No-shows & late or early arrivals
Your vehicle will be held for 3 hour from the specified reserved time. After this time we cannot guarantee a vehicle will be available upon arrival. For all airport bookings, however, where a correct flight number has been supplied the vehicle will be held until the flight has landed and cleared. Where a flight delay results in a customer arriving after the station closing time a member of staff will wait for the flight to land and clear, additional charges may apply. If the delay is in excess of 30 minutes after the station closing time an out of hours fee may apply. Where no flight number has been supplied we will hold the vehicle for a period of up to 1 hours or until station closing time, which ever is the earlier. Staff will not wait beyond closing time where no flight number is supplied. When booking your vehicle please ensure the dates entered are correct, if your circumstances change and you require the vehicle on different dates/times please amend your reservation. Customers who arrive 1 day or more early at our rental stations with a reservation that does not match the current date will not be able to use the reservation reserved online. The branch may be able to offer an alternate reservation but please note the rates will not match the online reservation. Please note that any unused rental days on reservations are non-refundable.
How do I pick up my car at airport locations?
Our branch offices and partners are situated at all bigger airports in Montenegro. All details about pick up will be provided in confirmation. If you inform us on time car can be delivered to a hotel or private accomodation.
How do I pick up my car at city locations?
Location of our offices are displayed on our web page and in your confirmation. We also delliver cars to hotels, accomodation address, ports, yacht marina and bus – railway stations. Feel free to contact us for all info.
Can I pick up out of office hours?
Yes, you may when you book and inform us in advance. Please note that fee for this service may apply.
How things work in a situation of flight delay or cancellation?
Although the flight details given by you will help us to keep a check on situations like flight delay or cancellation, it is still advisable that you inform us regarding the situation of your flight. Any failure to do so on your part might incur extra charges.
What happens if the office for car collection or pick up is closed?
In an event, where you arrive at the office when it is closed you must call us to inform about the same. Mostly there will be a sign – we are on delivery or so you don't have to be worred our agents will be there in agreed time The contact number and other related information about the pick up is provided in your confirmation voucher.
Which documents should I present at pick up?
You should present driving licence, passport and credit card for main renter, driving licence only for additional drivers.
What sort of driving licence you require?
Drivers should provide a valid national or international driver's license held at least two years.
Can I rent a car without credit card?
It is required to leave a deposit to cover the insurance excess amounts , eventually missing fuel, traffic fines. To do so, a valid credit card in the name of the lead driver, must be provided upon collection of the car or cash deposit minimum 200.00 Euro (depending on rental car group) as a form of deposit.
How quickly will deposit be unblocked?
It takes from 3 to 28 days to unblock the deposit. In some cases we recommend you to get in touch with your bank in order to quicken the unblocking process
How can I pay the balance at pick up?
All major credit cards Visa, Mastercard, Diners and American express are accepted for payment as wel l as cash.
What do I do if I don’t find my preferred car for rent?
Cars displayed on www.goodchoice-rentacar.me are for guidance and might differ from the actual versions available on road. Moreover, not all cars are displayed on our website and that’s why you can see an “or similar” tag with the car name. According to the car rental terms, the brand, color and fuel type of the car are not guaranteed. The car brand is specified in a booking confirmation for the information purpose and in most of times you will get selected car. Also you can inform us about your preferences in order to take all your wishes into account and we can do our best according to availabilty.
What about fuel?
In most situations cars are dellivered with full tank and you also return full. Anyhow you return same level of tank we gave you on pick up.
During your car rental
Can I let someone else to drive the car?
Only drivers who are registered in rental agreement can drive the vehicle. If any accident occures while non-registered driver is driving the rental car, insurance will be void.
Can I travel to another country?
Yes it is allowed with exception for some car groups you need permission from rental agent. Cross Bordering into Greece, Romania, Bulgaria, Macedonia & Turkey is NOT allowed. Please note that for some of countries in region may be restrictions regarding insurance policy. For details please contact your booking agent on pick up or call us in advance.
What to do in case of accident?
In that case please stay cool-headed. Call us on help phone numbers we gave you as well as police and hospital if necessary. Number is +382122. We will inform you about further steps.
What should I do in case of car breakdown?
Contact us on emergency phone number or number of your rental agent, we are here to give you support 24 hours a day. Depending on the breakdown reason we will either change the vehicle or make it repaired in the nearest service to you. All our cars are new and they have fabric guarantee.
What happens if I receive a speeding fine or parking fine?
We will will charge fine or forward your information to law enforcement agencies, who will in turn issue a fine to your postal address, and then we may charge a service fee. We advise if you live outside from Croatia that you pay any fines you receive before leaving the country. (If you are aware of them) Failure to pay fines received in Croatia may cause unpleasant situations.
Safe driving tip
Get to know your car before heading off. Familiarise yourself with all the controls. If you have any questions about the car seek advice from our agent before commencing your journey. Get Directions! Always lock your car and keep windows up when leaving the vehicle unattended and do not leave your personal items on car seats.
On The Road in Croatia
- 50 km/h - within settled areas
- 80 km/h - outside settled areas
- 100 km/h - on major roadways designed exclusively for motor vehicles, and on highways
- 130 km/h - on motorways
- 80 km/h - for motor vehicles with a caravan trailer without brakes
- 80 km/h - for buses and buses with a light trailer; on motorways, buses are allowed to drive up to 100 km/h, except for those buses carrying children
Please reduce and adjust your speed in wet road conditions.
- Driving with dipped headlights is obligatory during winter and summer time
- The use of mobile telephones while driving is forbidden!
- The use of seat belts is obligatory.
- A reflective sleeveless jacket is an obligatory part of every vehicle’s emergency equipment. The driver is obliged to wear it when he or she is on the road, outside the car (changing a tyre, doing repair works on the car, filling up with petrol, stopping other cars in an attempt to seek help, etc.)

Hints and step-by-step advice in case of accident?
When considering using a GOOD CHOICE rent a car on your vacation, it’s important to know what to do in case of a car accident. Nobody wants to get into an accident; especially with a rental car. Provided informations will help you get through the trying times immediately following the accident if you are unfortunate enough to get into on during your vacation.
Here are some hints and step-by-step advice to help you know what to do in this situation.
- Make sure that everybody is ok and safe.
- Call the police and if necessary call ambulance
- Call us on one of phones provided by our agent on a pick up.
- We have certain procedures that you need to follow in the event of an accident.
- Gather information from other driver(s).
- Gather information from any witnesses.
- Make note of the cars involved.
- If possible, take pictures.
- Write down what happened.
Remember that the car you’re driving doesn’t belong to you. You need to provide as much documentation as you can. Make sure you give a full statement to the police and obtain a police report along with test.
Involved Driver Information
Information you need to obtain from the other drivers is listed here:
- Full name as it appears on the driver’s license.
- Address and phone numbers. If residence address is different from mailing, get that too, if you can.
- Driver’s license number and vehicle plate number(s)
- Insurance information including carrier name and contact information and policy number.
Make note of all the cars involved in the accident and where they are. Include any damage noticed.
Take pictures of all of the cars involved if you have a means to. This way nobody can claim any extra damages.
While the accident is still fresh in your mind, write down what happened to the best of your recollection.
This way, you won’t be able to remember things that didn’t happen when we have to contact insurance companies and explain what happened.
Returning a car
Where do I drop off the car at airport?
You can drop the car at the airport parking, and documents in our office. Our staff will take care about rest.
Where can I drop off the car at city locations?
You may drop the car either in our office or your accomodation address, port.. All with prior arrangement with your rental agent.
May I return earlier/later than the date/time written in rental agreement?
You can return vehicle in different time or day, only if you inform us in advance. Anyhow daily rate is based on 24 hours rent,we have grace period of 2 hours, and after that we will charge one more day.
