Where to pick up the car in Kotor?

Cars cannot enter the old city walls — the old town is pedestrian only inside the gates. We deliver to your hotel or accommodation just outside the walls, or to the main parking area on the bay ("Parking Škaljari"), whichever works best for you. Handover takes under 10 minutes.

Kotor delivery covers the entire Bay of Kotor area: Kotor, Dobrota, Prčanj, Orahovac and Perast. For Herceg Novi or Risan, contact us — we can usually accommodate with advance notice.

Best routes and day trips from Kotor

Lovćen National Park (30 km · 1h)

The mountain directly above Kotor — the serpentine road (25 hairpin bends) is one of the most dramatic drives in the Balkans. The view from Njegoš Mausoleum at 1,657 m covers the entire bay and Adriatic. Any car handles the road; drive slowly, it's narrow.

Bay of Kotor Loop (60 km loop · 2h)

Drive the entire bay — Kotor, Perast (Our Lady of the Rocks island), Risan, Herceg Novi and back via the Verige ferry crossing. The ferry runs every 30 minutes and cuts 45 minutes off the loop. It costs around €5 for a car.

Tivat Airport (12 km · 25 min)

The nearest airport — ideal if you are flying in and out of Kotor rather than Podgorica. Pick up at the airport and return in Kotor, or vice versa. Both directions are available at standard pricing.

Herceg Novi (30 km · 40 min)

The "city of flowers" at the mouth of the bay. The coastal drive via Lepetane is straightforward. Alternatively, take the Verige ferry crossing from Kamenari for a more interesting route and great views of the bay narrows.

Parking in Kotor — the honest guide

No cars are allowed inside the old city walls. Outside, parking is paid and gets busy fast in summer:

  • Parking Škaljari (along the bay wall) — €2–3/hour, closest to the old town entrance, fills by 09:00 in July–August
  • Parking near the North Gate — smaller lot, slightly cheaper
  • Free parking on the Dobrota road — 800 m walk to the city gates, genuinely free, good option if you arrive after 10:00
  • Towed cars are taken to a lot 4 km away — do not park on the bay promenade without a permit
